Dr Emille du Plessis

Doctor | Director

Dr du Plessis obtained his S.SC from the University of Stellenbosch in 1976 and went on to graduate in 1981 at the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort Veterinary Faculty.

Straight after graduating on the Friday, he started to work in a rural Veterinary practice in Riversdal with Dr Theo Taljaard.

Dr du Plessis got married in 1983 and joined another mixed practice in Caledon with Drs Herbst and Wilson and worked there for 5 years after which he decided to pursue dairy cow fertility and production work with a large dairy company in the Western Cape.

He returned to his first practice in Riversdal in 1988 and stayed there for the next 14 years.  The decision to join WAHG in 2002 was prompted by the family not wishing to split when his daughter started Varsity.  Once at WAHG, Dr du Plessis decided to focus mainly on companion animal care.

Dr du Plessis enjoys mountain biking, loves reading and has a special interest in Origins Science and does some lecturing and tours on the validity of a Young Earth.
